Teach your children from home!

Welcome to the world of home education - learning without school! We officially began educating our three children in 1985, when our eldest was five years. In truth, we had helped them learn what they need to learn as they grew and explored and discovered this amazing world since the moment they were each born! I am a passionate advocate of allowing children to learn unhindered by unnecessary stress and competition, meeting developmental needs in ways that suit their individual learning styles and preferences. We are a homeschooling, unschooling and natural learning family! There are hundreds of articles on this site to help you build confidence as a home educating family.

"Thank you... The information you supply is real and generous - fantastic reading. Your honesty is rare. Most books do not really explain 'how' as well as you do." Tracy

"A fabulous source of information and inspiration... providing wonderful, detailed information and resources." Faye

"Every time I read your writing it feels like a pat on the shoulder, and that feels really good...Thanks!" Maaike

Thank you for your contribution...

Since 1989 Beverley and her family have donated countless hours to promoting and supporting families interested in helping their children learn in stress-free, nurturing environments.

Each week Beverley reads and responds to hundreds of messages and emails seeking support and reassurance as well as information on how to get started along the home education path. She generously offers her three decades of experience and insights with anyone who shares her passion about children and learning. Her experience stays fresh and current even though her own home educated children are now adults by continuing to promote and support home education, frequently attending homeschool and unschool gatherings and excursions, as well as taking a keen interest in the education and development of her grandchildren.

For decades Beverley and her family have donated their time and energy to support the creation and management of local and national homeschooling networks, including beginning and producing network newsletters, resource directories and magazines. She currently supports the Australian Homeschool Network and helps to provide a week-long national series of online conferences each year as well as the fantastic annual national Homeschool CampFest. Through the Australian Homeschool Network she offers one-one consultations and small group workshops. She is also an active member of the Home Education Association of Australia and supports state and regional and local homeschooling groups.

Her readiness to 'be there' for families and to donate her time and energy to helping others is much appreciated:

  • "You've been an inspiration to me, I love the way you really listen to people." Vanessa
  • "Whenever I read your writing I always come away with increased confidence in my ability to provide and share a wonderful learning journey with my family!" Davina
  • "Your guidance, understanding, support and words of wisdom changed our lives. We now offer support and organise many homeschooling events for others." Lesley
  • "Thank you once again for your prompt and friendly service. I am convinced that your books are going to add quality and peace of mind to my journey of teaching my kids at home! Just from studying your website, until almost 2am in the morning, I 've been encouraged!" Louisa
  • "Thank you for all your many, many reassuring words over many, many years. You probably don't know exactly how valuable you are to the Australian Home Education community. I've been reading your stuff for maybe 8 years or more now. And I'm very grateful." Gythaa

Home education is a legal alternative to school
education in Australia. State and Territory governments are responsible for regulating home education and have different requirements, however home educating families are able to develop curriculum and learning programs to suit the individual needs of their children.
