Homeschooling in Action!

© Beverley Paine

Home education is non-stop - it includes all of the activities a family does in a day, week, month or year. Some families take 'time off' regular activities during school holiday times; others simply continuing doing what they do every week. One of the benefits of home education is that families can visit and enjoy popular attractions during non-peak times - we're not restricted to weekends or holiday periods. Shopping and educational excursions can be done when these venues are almost deserted, meaning less distraction, greater concentration, more learning opportunities...

Homeschooling isn't 'sitting at a desk doing bookwork' all day, as these following photos show. It's about becoming involved in the local community, enjoying and learning about the natural and cultural environment and doing many hands-on activities. Homeschooling isn't always fun, but it's always interesting!
